You'll be able to enjoy homemade doughnuts, tempura, sweet potato fries, chicken fingers and fried dough any time you like with this easy to use appliance. Unlike the oil sometimes used in commercial establishments you can be sure your frying oil is always fresh and clean.

Amazon.com Review
This impressive appliance is designed to be easy and safe to use, clean to operate and wash, and produce exceptional food. It delivers on all accounts. The detailed instructions lead you through the process of heating oil to the correct temperature, then lowering the frying basket into the oil as the lid remains closed. This means that odors and mess are kept inside the fryer.

A Better Frying Experience

The D895UX features a patented rotating basket. This titled rotating basket revolves the food through the oil provides. The end result if that it allows you to use half the amount of oil normally required--without sacrificing anything in taste. The whole process makes surprisingly nongreasy food because the oil is heated evenly to the correct temperature. You end up with healthier, but still scrumptious, fried foods. And, the windowed lid allows you to monitor the cooking process safely.

A Host of Great Features

The fryer has a non-stick interior that is easy-to-clean, while the adjustable thermostat with indicator light allows you to set frying temperature from 300 to 370 degrees, giving you the flexibility to fry foods jus the way you like them. A built-in digital timer with bell can be pre-set; a viewing window lets you check on the food while it's cooking. Safety is built in--the sides of the fryer remain cool, and the hot oil stays inside, and non-slip feet keep fryer in place. When the food is done, there's an exterior lift handle that makes it easy to raise or lower the basket with the fryer lid closed to prevent splattering. The 1.5-pound capacity accommodates ample French fries, calamari, or tempura for four.
Easy Cleanup

DeLonghi gives careful attention to cleanup. Forget dealing with messy, hot oil. The ingenious easy clean oil drain system makes draining and recycling cooking oil safe and easy. Simple open the door on the front of the unit and drain. A tube unfolds from a hidden compartment and efficiently drains the oil so that it can be used again--a system that's both easy and clean. The lid and frying basket are dishwasher-safe. There are two replaceable filters--dual filtration prevents the release of oil vapors and odors in the kitchen—and a detachable cord with patented condensation shield. For safer operation, the magnetic cord easily detaches from the fryer if accidentally pulled. This unique safety feature is designed with a patented condensation shield to prevent dripping onto the cord connection. The fryer measures 14-3/4 by 12 by 9-1/2 inches and weighs 10.8 pounds. --Sherry Smith

4 out of 5 stars does what it says it can do   July 11, 2010
Lori (NY, NY)
I haven't had a deep fryer in many years. This one was a pleasant surprise. It is very easy to use and even easier to clean the interior section. I found that I can fry things quickly and they don't come out greasy as the one I had years ago did. Biggest surprise was that there was absolutely no smell and no grease splatter. I fried a dinner-sized batch of chicken tenders and still no smell. Took a few tries to time it right, the suggestions aren't terribly accurate. It took multiple batches to fry it completely, again the suggested times/size of batch didn't quite work for me. My biggest complaint is that I cannot clean the drain "hose" completely. I feel that I'm leaving a small amount of old, dirty oil in the drain hose. Tried using the implement that came with the fryer with no success. Not a huge deal, but one that does concern me.

4 out of 5 stars deep fryer   June 12, 2010

Great, this was a replacement for our other DeLonghi deep fryer that died on us. Especially like that you can remove and strain the grease after each use. We are a family of four and its big enough for all our frying needs.

5 out of 5 stars Really Easy Clean-Yp and Great Fryer   May 31, 2010

It's a great fryer, but what I hated the most about deep frying before was the mess and clean up. You know the drill, you pop frozen fries in the deep fryer and it splatters everywhere. Not with this one. You do not lower the tray into the oil until after you shut the lid. Brilliant.

However, the best part about this fryer is the easy clean up. Cleaning Tip. After you drain the cooled oil with the little rubber sprout, wipe excess crumb from interior with paper towel and then move the drain spout over sink. Put some type of grease fighting detergent (like Dawn) in the interior of the fryer. Swish detergent around with a washcloth and then take your kitchen sprayer and spray the inside only of the fryer with HOT water until dishwashing soap is completely washed from interior. The dirty water will drain from the spout into your sink. Formally greasy interior comes whistle clean with very little effort and you do not have to get the exterior or electronic parts wet.

Love, Love, Love this deep fryer.

3 out of 5 stars Some cool features   May 16, 2010

We upgraded to this fryer from the Waring Pro WPF100B we bought from Costco. What I really like about this fryer is the oil storage container, drain valve and the filters to reduce the frying odor. The downside is that it doesn't fry as well as my other fryer. The food takes a little longer and it seems like the food retains more grease. However, the odor and drain are more important to me at this point, so we'll stick with it. The one really bad thing is that the lid to my oil storage container cracked already and we've only had it for 2 weeks! I'm not sure how to get another lid yet.

1 out of 5 stars How overcooking cod fish can destroy a newly redecorated room   March 6, 2010

We invited another couple to come participate in our first use of the DeLonghi food fryer. We followed the directions and used new vegatable oil and set the temp as directed. After the fish was lowered in the basket into the oil the oil began to boil in much the same manner as what is called a rolling boil in cooking pasta in a large pot. We cooked the fish for the prescribed time ( a few minutes) and found that even that it looked ok that it was way over cooked. Plus the batter was cemented to the basket. The smell of fish oil permeated the kithchen and the family room which had just been repainted and all the drapes and furniture reupholstered. The smell moved on to affect the house at large. It took 3 days for the smell to dissipate.
