Started out working well June 29, 2010 shojim89 (Centreville, Va.) I don't know if this is typical for this product but I purchased mine in March 2010 and was initially very pleased with it. As in most of the other reviews, I agree that it comes apart and cleans easily. The lid doesn't have a seal on it like my other cooker did which causes a little mess of its own. It started out cooking the food well (typically I usually just cook french fries) but it began to progressively take longer and longer to heat up and to cook as well. The other night it didn't heat enough to cook anything (Even though the ready light came on). I typically used this about once a week but it just didn't hold up. I haven't found my paperwork yet to determine if it's still under warranty. It's a nice unit for the price but it should have a seal on the lid atleast. I imagine that it may have held up better if I didn't use it as much But that's why I bought it was to use it. I hope this information helps in your decision to by a deep fryer.
Great Product April 30, 2010 Dwain L. Tolson First off odering was very easy and Item was shipped fast ! Item was packaged very well to prevent any damage. The deep fryer was easy to use and bigger than our last one, I really like the way you can raise the basket out of the oil with the lid still closed. Clean up is easy with this unit, I would recomend this counter top deep fryer to anyone looking for such a unit.
No Heat/ returned & replaced December 4, 2009 Larent Halstead (Ocala, Florida) I just purchased and it was delivered yesterday...so I unpacked it today and figured I would try it out. Well unpacked it , filled with oil to just below the Max fill line, plugged it in, turned it on..set the knob for 375 for FF's and proceeded to make the fries. Put the fresh cut fries in basket and noticed the ready light was on....it wasn't ready, not even luke warm, checked plug, after 30 minutes so far I can put my finger tip in the oil...so I'll continue this later to see if it ever does get hot. Well to make a long story shorter I sent it back to Amazon and they actually delivered a new one the same time they had UPS pick up the defective one and this one works great. Thanks for the effortless exchange
Doesn't hold the temperature August 11, 2009 KatieinCA (California bay area) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this deep fryer based on numerous good reviews, unfortunately my fryer doesn't hold the selected temperature. The first time I used this it worked like a charm, made golden brown delicious french fries in 15 minutes, now after the 6th or 7th use it takes atleast 25+ minutes to cook the same batch of fries which come out extremely greasy. My fries lovin family even commented on the greasiness as they ate that last fry. I'm reluctant to use the fryer now because of the added grease in the food, it's bad enough eating deep fried food, but when it's really saturated with oil it just way too unhealthy!
NO HEAT / NO FEET July 13, 2009 R. CHRISTENSEN 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
THIS UNIT ONLY HEATS TO 300 WHEN SET AT 375 (CHECKED WITH 2 DIFFERENT DEEP FRY THERMOMETERS) AND THE RUBBER FEET THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO SUPPORT IT PULL OUT EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO MOVE IT.
