This is one great deep fryer August 30, 2010 Kenneth M. Flock (USA) This is really a great deep fryer for home use. I like the temperture control and the resulting fried foods. Holds a good deal of oil and has a nice capacity for frying foods. Really a joy to use. I recommend and would buy again.
good deep fryer August 23, 2010 Lorna Doughty I bought this fryer for my mom it heats up perfect, chips cooks even and you can fry the chips fast, and get a second set on and it is easy to clean it is the best.
Hot to touch and loses heat August 23, 2010 P. Brady (Tallahassee, FL) As much as I would like to not have to pack it up an send it back, that is what I am going to do. After two attempts, same problem. Oil loses heat dramatically and takes a LONG time to recover. The sides of the unit also get hot, very hot. Like other reviewers said, but I apparently disregarded, the steam from the unit prevents you from adjusting the temperature without getting a steam burn. Two baskets side by side or the one larger does not hold much more than my old Euro-Pro one deeper basket. Pick another fryer.
Its big! August 22, 2010 Suzie Q (Destin Florida USA) Ok, I just got this a few days ago. I haven't used it yet, but once I do will come back and tell you all about it, that is presuming I can lift it out of the box!! Its very big and pretty heavy. Where in the world am I going to keep this thing? Right now its on the fireplace in the family room. LOL!
Smart purchase August 19, 2010 aspentool I reviewed all of the fryers I could find on Amazon and elsewhere, and this one came up the winner. Many others seemed overpriced with gimmicks and reviewed poorly. For the $, this one had many more positives than negatives.
It is well made for a noncommercial fryer. I use it on the back deck to keep the cooking odors outside so the filter makes no difference to me. People complaining about the steam are not using it correctly. Expect Steam and odors. It is part of the cooking process. Some have complained that food in the basket does not get covered by oil while cooking. I do not believe they read the directions very well and are actually trying to fry while the basket is hanging on the drain hooks. Put the basket down into the fryer.
3 stars--it is not perfect and there is always room for improvement. If it breaks tomorrow I will still be happy and at this price I will buy another.
