Amazon.com Review A perfect gift for new homemakers, the food processor has become an integral part of modern cooking, speeding up a multitude of processes, including kneading dough, slicing, chopping, shredding cheese, vegetables and meat, mincing garlic and parsley, mixing batters, and emulsifying mayonnaise. Cuisinart's Pro Classic comes with a 7-cup work bowl, four basic attachments for slicing, shredding, chopping, mixing, and kneading, and also features two feed tube options, one big enough to handle a whole potato. This processor comes with a compact cover for use when the feed tube isn't needed and a pulse control that allows the desired degree of fineness when chopping and puréeing. Remove the detachable stem for compact storage of discs. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and the motor base wipes clean. In addition, a custom-contoured spatula, a 50-page recipe booklet, and a 30-minute video designed to familiarize the new owner with the care and use of the food processor are included. --Victoria Jenkins

Powerful July 28, 2010 M. Jones I have owned several blenders, both expensive and inexpensive, but none of them have lasted very long. I decided to purchase a food processor instead of a blender as so many recipes call for the use of one. I read many reviews, and this Cuisinart was an easy choice. I have several Cuisinart appliances, and they have all served me well.
Essential Kitchen Tool! July 12, 2010 Auggie (Rhode Island) Had one for 10 years and lost it in the divorce. Just bought the latest and greatest version and have fallen in love all over again. Nice design improvements and cutting veggies for salads is a snap. Really bought it to make my "killer" homemade humous. YUM!
Great Food Processor - Perfect size for an apartment July 12, 2010 Kara S 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've seen some reviews for this food processor saying that the bowl is too small. This might be the case for soups but I've found it to be the perfect size. I live in a small NYC apartment and I actually have space on my counter for this appliance and I use it several times a week. Whether for making hummus or bread crumbs or for shredding potatoes for hash browns I've found many ways to utilize this appliance on a regular basis.
If you are planning to make large batches of soup in your food processor perhaps you should upgrade to the larger model but for someone with limited space this is a great food processor!

Why did I wait so long? May 18, 2010 Sherrieflower (United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Cuisinart food processor was always one of those kitchen gadgets I thought I could live without. for the most part I enjoy chopping fresh food with a chef's knife, by hand etc. but my recent interest in raw food preparation led me to purchase the 7-cup Cuisinart food processor. After seeing how quick and easy it is to whip up recipes I now wonder why I waited so long to get one. I have a Vitamix and thought I could do everything in it but the depth of the container makes it too tall to get smaller quantities of food out as efficiently as the Cuisinart's shallower bowl and spatula can. The Cuisinart is less messy than the attachments I have for my Kitchen Aide Mixer that shred carrots etc. too.
It does not however chop dried herbs as finely as the Vitamix and powdered herbs are easy to pour from the tall container - as long as it is not something you need to scrape out with a spatula -the Vitamix is great too.
I am very happy with my Cuisinart and like how you can just keep adding different ingredients for a recipe right in the same mixing bowl, this is a feature you don't get with just any chopper/shredder. It is easy to clean and easy to use. I am looking forward to using it a lot in my kitchen.
