Amazon.com Review This tool increases the fun factor of your KitchenAid stand mixer several times over. Toss cubes of meat into the food tray, stomp 'em down, and watch the results wriggle out the front. Grind your own beef or chicken for patties or tacos. Blend your own sausage mixtures, from breakfast to boudin blanc. With additional attachments, you can turn it into a pasta maker or a sausage stuffer. It's easy to assemble and use. Most parts are dishwasher-safe; hand wash the grinding blades, wooden stomper, and cutting knife. --Betsy Danheim

good addition to KitchenAid mixer January 6, 2009 Chris (St. Louis,Mo.) We purchased grinder to grind deer meat. Did a very nice job, we ran the meat thru the large grinding plate first, then thru the smaller holed plate. Cleaned all attachment parts in dishwasher came out very clean. Would recommend.
Works exceptionally well for the price and convenience! January 1, 2009 J. Myers I just got this a few days ago and have used it for two different tasks. Th e first run was with walnuts and I wanted to create something akin to flour to flavor muffins and it worked so well. When I ran my hands through it all the walnut oil was still present and the muffins can out delicious. Last night I tried grinding sausage for the first time ever and it was easy and simple. I first ran it through on the large setting, then let it (the machine and the pork) rest and then ran it through on the smaller size (all on setting 4 on the machine), spiced it up and let the mixture sit overnight in the fridge. This morning I cooked it up and it tasted SO much better than any store bought could ever. I still have about 6 pound left over to do with that I want from the initial grinding. I read the reviews about the plunger here so I just used my finger it push it in and all was well. I'll probably get a dowel to use as a plunger at some point. Excellent product for the price!
Very disappointed! December 28, 2008 P. Reusch 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Grinder plates and blade do not fit tightly together. Because of this, thin membranes get wrapped around grinding blade and must be cleaned off or meat cannot push through. If meat is thoroughly trimmed works great, otherwise it's a pain to use.
Delightful! December 22, 2008 J. Myers (New York) About a month ago I purchased the grinder attachment for my KitchenAid. We successfully ground almost 100lbs of Venison in two days! The only thing I wish were different about the attachment would be for the tray to be a little bit bigger, however KitchenAid does offer larger ones that you can purchase separately. It's a wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone.
A great grinder without another whole appliance December 19, 2008 Kevin S. Maxey (Cleveland, OH) We have had the grinder for 10+ years now. Since we aren't on a farm or hunters we aren't grinding meat regularly but it does the job. The only con I would offer is that the "tray" that hold product waiting to be ground should be larger. Kitchenaid now sells an add on that increases this capacity
