If You Eat Lots of Rice... July 27, 2010 JoWiCr ...like I do, this rice cooker is indispensable. My Zojirushi has never made a bad pot of rice, it has never burned, it has never turned to mush; this rice cooker has never let me down. I have used it well over 100 times and it is still going strong. A quick peek behind my favorite sushi bar revealed that they were using a Zojirushi, so I checked out the great reviews on Amazon, and bought one that day. It is a hefty price tag for what many consider the easiest and hardest thing to cook properly, but it is well worth it if you plan to make rice at least twice a week.
Basmati rice setting? July 23, 2010 J. Jacobson i like the rice maker, but have not yet figured out the right formula for Basmati Rice - one cup? I have used the "fast cook" setting, and the "Sushi rice" setting so far. Has anyone figured out an easy method for Basmati? I'm going to try it on "Brown Rice" setting next. On the white rice/Sushi rice setting it is a little less puffy than I'm used to.
AWESOME Little Machine July 22, 2010 Robert D. Shurbet (Concord, CA USA) I love this thing! Perfect white rice, perfect brown rice. Cleans up easy and it works perfectly every time. I was even able to make polenta in it - 3 cups of water, 1 cup of coarse grain polenta, salt and other spices and set the pre-set to Brown Rice. When the timer goes off, pop it open, stir, and pour the polenta into a sheet pan. Cover it with plastic wrap and pop it into the fridge to set. YUM! I am always hesitant to spend money on one-use kitchen appliances, but this one is a MUST HAVE.
The best rice cooker i've ever owned!! July 12, 2010 Dani I bought this rice cooker after trying others and nothing comes close to how this rice cooker makes rice. It's excellent. The rice comes out perfect everytime. Soft, fluffy, tender and just right.
I bought the 3-cup rice cooker and if you serve the perfect portion it serves about 6 people (a spoon & 1/2).
It's compact and easy to keep clean and store in any small space.
I think this is the best rice cooker i've ever owned. I love it!!
Outstanding product June 27, 2010 Mary E. Latimer (TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cannot believe the difference this outstanding rice cooker makes in the taste of rice, whether brown, white or mixed. Ideal for one or two people. I highly recommend this product.
