Amazon.com Review As my tastes expand, extra space in the kitchen shrinks, filling with specialized appliances. Fortunately, this versatile grill is a space saver, cooking something for every meal: restaurant-style Belgian waffles, paninis, sausages, or grilled meats and fish. The secret is the reversible grid. One side is a four-square waffle iron for waffles, while the other neatly grills sandwiches or paninis. To grill sausages, bacon, salmon, vegetables, or pancakes, just open the grill so both sides lay flat. The nonstick grids prevent crumbling waffles, are easy to clean, and allow for lower-fat grilling, justifying more whipped cream on your waffles, or extra cheese in your sandwich. The raised rib grill drains fat as food grills--a further fat reduction. Recipes are included to guide you through a variety of waffles, French toast, paninis, T-bone steaks, and grilled vegetables. --Laura Cuthbert

Does great waffles June 12, 2010 J. E. Chase (Nevada) Let me preface my review by saying that I bought my VillaWare Belgian Waffle and Multi Baker at Goodwill. For $8. I would never spend $50 or higher (I've seen it for $100) for a gadget in the kitchen. The multi baker part of the appliance is the gadgety part to me. The waffle iron part is great. One has to remember that waffle irons take a while to cook, especially if you want that crispy outside and bready inside taste. With a little patience you can make great waffles with this appliance. The only negative I would say is it's a bit clunky. This is due to the changable cooking plates.
Waffle maker/Multi-baker November 11, 2009 Thomas E. Shalles (Lynnwood, WA United States) This kitchen appliance is one of the best purchases I have made for the kitchen! It works great as a grill or a waffle maker. Ease of clean-up is what I searched for when looking for a new waffle maker and this product delivers. The heavy plates snap in or release with ease and clean up easily in the sink or dishwasher. The fact that this is a heavy duty product for professional use is a bonus.
I should have gotten together with another reviewer September 9, 2009 sushicatlover (reynoldsburg, oh USA) I should have gotten together with the reviewer that said that the bottom never cooked because my top never cooked. So if we gerryrigged our machines we could have one perfect machine rather than two lousy machines. I got it at a great price but thank goodness I could return it because noone wants a raw top with an overcooked bottom. Love these Amazon ratings because at least I knew it was the product and not me.
Waffles stick, VERY slow to cook, coating comes off in food August 3, 2009 reader and maker (USA) Having the non-stick coating come off on my waffles after just a year of use made me finally toss this in the trash. I already dislike the VERY slow cooking time (twice what my newer hamilton-beach takes) and I also disliked the fact that waffles always stuck unless I sprayed it every time. I won't miss this at all.
Disappointed March 31, 2009 John Harvey France (Ridgecrest CA) I have had this for several years, and it has never worked. The waffles always stick. It doesn't get hot enough. I have had excellent with a much less expensive Toastmaster belgian waffle maker. Unfortunately, the Toastmaster waffles don't fit well in my toaster. It does work adequately for Panini.
