Product Description Roll them into cones or cylinders, shape them into baskets or stack them like a sandwich, pizzelles are not only delicious, they're versatile. This delicate cookie has its roots in ancient Italy where they were made for only important celebrations. In the middle ages the pizzelle irons frequently bore the crest of a noble family, or a regional design. The variations you can devise with a seemingly endless array of possible fillings, keeps the pizzelle maker from gathering dust in appliance Purgatory.
Amazon.com Review Unlike an old-fashioned pizzelle iron, this electric pizzelle baker stays hot--you don't have to wait for it to reheat after you bake a pizzelle. It churns out three 3-inch pizzelle simultaneously in 45-60 seconds, and then is instantly ready to bake three more. The nonstick plates clean easily and release pizzelle readily, and are surrounded by an overflow channel for excess batter. (A precisely calibrated batter spoon is included.) Electronic controls add convenience and flexibility. There are "heat-up" and "ready" lights--there's even a dial so you can choose exactly how brown you want your pizzelle. When warm and pliable, pizzelle can be formed into baskets, cones, and cannoli for holding sweet fillings. (A wooden cannoli dowel is included.) Or they can form sweet sandwiches. Accordingly, accompanying the 1,000-watt appliance are recipes for variously flavored pizzelle and for cannoli fillings. The baker measures 9 inches wide, 3-1/4 inches high, and 10 inches deep, stores upright, and has a cord-wrap underneath. --Fred Brack

Love the small size! July 7, 2010 Yvonne C Jennings (Irving, TX. USA) This is a great little pizzelle maker, making three small 3" pizzelle's at a time. Come's with a wooden rolling form and a plastic batter spoon (no need to guess how much batter to use for each pizzelle).
compact June 13, 2010 Marilyn Robustelli (CA) I really like this pizzelle iron. It is compact (nice for storing something that is non-essential) and easy to use. Nothing sticks and no clean-up, really. The pizzelles are small and perfect for a sweet treat with ice cream, etc. My family loves them and I am very happy with it.
love it June 10, 2010 Ceice (Kentucky) I love this pizzelle maker. The recipe for a basic pizzelle is wonderful and easily adapted to various flavors. The pizzelles slide off with no problem and you can make dozens in no time. It is a snap to clean up and easy to store. I am worried about the cord though. The design has it winding around a channel in the bottom of the maker in a curved pattern. I don't know if the casing on the wire will hold up so I'm leaving the cord unwound. But they have become a big hit in my family and I have had multiple requests for them.
Quick, Easy & Low Calorie! May 31, 2010 Candace J. Silveria (Virginia City, NV USA) We love the Chef's Choice 835 Pizzelle Pro because it's easy to use, and the recipe is quite adaptable. So far in the two months I've owned it, I have made over 30 dozen cookies! The pizzelle recipe is already only approx. 20 calories per cookie for the 3" size this unit produces. I prefer to use non-GM oil such as safflower or peanut, no Crisco or canola or corn, as these products are GM (genetically modified). I have used crushed pineapple and its own juice for flavoring, as well as all natural peanut butter (1/3 cup for batch of fifty). Add a little vanilla in the peanut butter batch. With only six ingredients, it doesn't take long to experiment and come up with the right batter consistency. This unit does just fine if you follow the initial instructions and try different settings to get the results you personally like. My husband likes his on 2, I like 4! About 45-50 minutes once a week supplies us with all the cookies we can eat and share, healthier ingredients, and far less fat and calories than storebought, all without using the 220 oven to boot! This has been a great investment all the way around to satisfy the sweet tooth, natural ingredients, electricity use and time!
Diabetics can substitute Splenda and the only sodium in the recipe (inc. all natural Peanut Butter!) comes from the 1 tsp. of baking powder, so they're great for low salt diets. Haven't experimented with Stevia as a sweetener yet, but I will!
Crispy one-serving pizzelles March 13, 2010 Barbara C. Swenson This product is terrific. It cooks evenly and quickly and the recipe included is the one I discovered about 6 months ago and it can't be beat. The cookies stay crispy for as long as they last. I wanted small sized pizzelles and that's what I got. Love the machine. My concern is that I will pile on the pounds from too many experiments with the machine. If this is an example of the quality of Chef's Choice, then I am going to be a loyal customer.
