Best waffles! May 3, 2010 Saigon Cinnamon (Ottawa, ON Canada) I am big into waffles. I make the every weekend for the family. I had a cheapo waffle maker that did a pretty good job for about a year until the element burnt out. I researched waffle makers for a while and found that the VillaWare Uno Classic Round Waffler got the best reviews from test kitchens. I was all set to order that one, when I saw their farmyard waffler. Since I have two young children, I thought they'd love this. They do! The only problem is my 2 year old wants to taste all the figures, so she bites the heads off and asks for the next one. At first I thought the waffles look a bit small, but the wells you pour the batter into are very deep. The waffles come out tall, but not dense. This makes them the best waffles I've ever tasted - especially if you make the batter thinner. Lots of crispy edges, especially on the delicious chicken. Other reviewers have complained about the sound it makes when the waffles are ready, but I don't find it annoying...just a little "cheep! cheep!" like a bird. It's a little trickier pouring in the batter as you have to fill in all the legs and noses, etc, but when you find the right spoon and with practice you can fill them up quickly (I start with the barn as it's the biggest so it won't overcook as I am filling the animals). I can't comment on durability as I haven't owned it long enough. I hope it lasts for years cause I love it!
Fun and quality, in the same easy to use tool. April 7, 2010 no one special I love the Villaware waffle maker. I actually own the barn yard and circus models. We have never had a problem with either of them. They make perfect waffles every time. Heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and is easy to clean.
VillaWare Waffle maker Farmyard February 9, 2010 J. Taylor The VillaWare Waffle Iron cooks great-nice even waffles and the farmyard makes it real fun! We love it!
i have the uno circus waffler October 29, 2009 E. Buchan got it to make waffles for the grands. best waffler i've ever owned. only one that i've ever been able to make waffles with. subtracted 1 star because the unit does not come apart and can be a bit of a pain to clean.
Our favorite waffler! October 22, 2009 Amy Mcfarland (California) This is our favorite waffle maker! My kids absolutely love the fun shapes, and the fact that it "chirps" when the waffles are ready. Plus it makes four waffles at a time, which is a bonus when cooking for the whole family. Browns very nicely, and incredibly easy to clean. I've never even had to use non-stick spray.
I've found it's best to use slightly thinner batter to make sure the shapes are evenly filled and come out looking like the animal intended.
