This is older model and manufacturer will not honor any warranty January 7, 2009 D. Broughton (Portland OR) I am shopping for a replacment waffle maker. I called Villaware since I noticed they didn't sell this one on their website. This V2002 is older model and they stopped making parts for it. It only comes with a one year warranty. They said if I bought it on Amazon they would not be able to honor warranty since they have no parts for it. I noticed the newer V2007 Villaware makes has a different design inside. They call it two boat shapes instead of the classic one big round waffle. They charge 39.99 for it and 8.50 for standard shipping. It also comes with a 3 year warranty. I think Amazon may want to rethink the pricing on this outdated model. As far as the warranty perhaps Amazon will just ship you another one from their stock if it fails since manufacturer no longer stocks parts. Know that the warranty is for one year. My cheap Oster waffle maker that just stopped working right was just over a year old. I am looking for something that will last longer with a warranty that will last longer too.
I would buy it again January 7, 2009 Janet K. Snowden (sacramento, ca) The waffles were evenly browned but found the recipe with the waffler were a bit bland. I need to find a better waffle recipe with a richer flavored batter.
Disapointed January 4, 2009 Richard L. Dessin (Alexandria, VA United States) After a week of research on which one too get I setteled on this one. It works great but after only a week out of the box and used 3 times the numbers are coming off. I dont know if this is a print problem or what but I was very upset for the amount of Money I paid, cant even find information to contact the Maker.
Okay product December 22, 2008 Lois F. Withers (Bay area, CA) It makes okay waffles but is very hard to clean and the batter still can stick even though it's non-stick. Use a lot of oil.
Makes waffles a joy! December 11, 2008 Sarah (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little machine just works. It heats quickly, takes just a minute or so to cook waffles, and cooks very evenly! It's a real looker, too. It has a power light, and the "ready" light notifies you (along with a loud beep) that your waffle has been cooked to perfection to one of the 7 heat settings. I like crispy waffles, so I usually set mine to 6 or 7. They turn out perfect. For truly crispy waffles, let the waffles cool for a little while on a rack. It cleans easily. I cannot stress how important it is to follow instructions when taking care of appliances. The ONLY way to clean this is: Let it cool. Wipe with a damp cloth on the outside, wipe the nonstick iron on the inside with a paper towel. If there is something caked on the iron, put some oil on it and wipe it out. So far I have had nothing stick to the iron. Do not use any utensils to remove the waffles that could scratch the nonstick coating! I have been using a large wooden salad fork to remove the waffles, it has worked well. I love the cord wrap underneath the waffler. The waffler stands on its end for storage and, unless something hits it, it won't fall over. I love that feature in my small kitchen. My only complaint is that the lettering on the menu - "power," "ready," and the numbers - has started to wear off. But I can forgive that. Also, the recipe book seems to have some hiccups, but still has some goodies. I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
