It makes some of the best waffles I have ever had. That said, the fit and finish of this waffle maker are not very good. I needed to remove a lot of casting flashing with a grinder to make the hinge end fit where it is supposed to. Even now it's not good. Even with the faluts, you can't beat cast iron for making waffles. The texture is very different from non-stick units. It takes a little practice and tecnique to get things just right with a manual unit like this, but the results are worth it.
